THE PECULIARITIES OF MENTAL STATES OF ENGINEERING EDUCATION STUDENTS UNDER CONDITIONS OF DISTANCE LEARNING

Abstract

The article presents the results of an empirical study on the peculiarities of education seekers’ mental conditions during distance education, using engineering students as an example. It has been theoretically analyzed that both positive and negative mental conditions have a direct impact on achievement, academic progress and results in specific activities of students, as well as the formation of their professional competency and personality traits. According to the results of empirical research, it is shown that during the education process student youth experience various mental states, which differ in the degree of severity, composition, and connection peculiarities between them. An average level of anxiety, aggression and rigidity was determined among most of the interviewed achievers. It has been clarified that most of the students shows signs of fatigue from the conditions of the remote mode of the educational process, an increased level of irritation, a decrease in the effectiveness of learning, and a lack of desire to engage in other types of activities, which corresponds to a weak and moderate level of asthenia. According to the results of the correlation analysis, negative correlations were established between the mental states of the students, their individual psychological properties and components of emotional intelligence.
