SUCCESS FACTORS OF ONLINE LEARNING: PSYCHOLOGICAL ASPECT
Abstract
The article examines the psychological factors influencing the success of online learning among second-cycle (master’s level) higher education students in institutions of higher education in Kharkiv. The aim of the study was to identify the psychological determinants of academic achievement in the context of online learning. The study involved 177 respondents and employed the Academic Motivation Scale and the Student Engagement Scale. The scientific novelty of the research lies in identifying five latent factors that determine success in online education: emotional- motivational stability, regulated motivation, cognitive orientation, behavioral disorientation, and external support. It was found that intrinsic motivation and high engagement are associated with better academic outcomes, while amotivation and low behavioral activity correlate with poorer results. The findings can be used to optimize distance education and provide psychological support to students.
