ACTIVITY AND OPTIMISM AS INDICATORS OF PROFESSIONAL SUCCESS AMONG WEB DEVELOPERS
Abstract
In the context of the dynamic growth of the IT sector, interest is increasing in the psychological factors that contribute to the professional success of web developers. Of particular relevance is the analysis of personal traits that may influence subjective perceptions of career growth and self- realization in this field. The aim of this article is to clarify how activity and optimism manifest among web developers with varying levels of professional experience and self-assessed professional success. The novelty of the study lies in the empirical confirmation that personal resources – particularly high levels of optimism and activity – have a statistically significant influence on self-perceived professional success, whereas years of experience do not show a similar effect. The findings suggest that psychological characteristics may serve as predictors of professional success regardless of the length of experience. The study concludes that incorporating personality profiles into the development of burnout prevention and career support programs in the IT sector is both necessary and beneficial.
